Woke up this morning, checked my phone, and got totally stunned by a string of numbers—the moves this time are pretty wild!
Let’s look at a few key indicators: the triple short FTSE China ETF surged 3.24%, the double short FTSE China 50 Index ETF also rose 2.07%, while the Nasdaq Golden Dragon Index barely moved, up just 0.08%. The FTSE A50 futures were almost flat, dipping only 0.01%.
These numbers seem a bit off—just as Chinese assets catch a breather, the short sellers are already gearing up? Yesterday’s Hang Seng Index drop of over 1% is probably related to this too. Honestly, these funds move fast, leaving no room for a rebound.
But then again, this is how market games are played. The shorts have their logic, but the longs aren’t pushovers either. How A-shares perform today depends on whether the main funds can hold the line—if they can withstand the pressure during the session, there might even be a reversal after an early dip.
In any case, staying calm is more important than anything right now. The short-term swings look scary, but panicking is exactly what they want.

Bearish in the early session, take advantage of the rebound.
