This November, I truly experienced all the ups and downs of trading contracts.
At the beginning of the month, I got wrecked on an altcoin, lost half my funds right away—basically no different from getting liquidated. In a moment of impulsiveness, I deposited more money and swore I'd only touch major coins from then on. But then a one-sided market appeared, and I was on the verge of liquidation again... I couldn't help but add more funds. That’s when I realized how addictive trading contracts can be—you just can’t walk away, no matter how much you lose.
In the latter half of the month, my principal grew, and so did my daily profits. Small positions didn’t yield much, but at least I wasn’t afraid of getting trapped, and I was basically making money every day during that period. Unfortunately, it didn’t last long—got hit hard again at the beginning of December 🥲
A few painful lessons:
**First**, stay away from altcoins. I’m not tempted by others making 10x or 100x, because I can’t afford the risk of going to zero.
**Second**, position sizing is your lifeline. At the very least, it lets you sleep at night.
**Third**, don’t get itchy fingers if the price hasn’t reached your target. Opening positions at awkward prices is just gambling—pure luck, with terrible odds.
**Fourth**, chasing pumps and panic selling are fatal mistakes. If you must chase, get in decisively at the very start—don’t wait until it’s already pumped to the top, or you’ll end up buying the peak and selling the bottom.
**Fifth**, when the market is unclear, avoid swing trading. There were several times when I could have broken even just by holding, but insisted on trading in and out, only to end up with losses.
Honestly, there’s a lot more I could summarize, but right now all I can think about is that loss at the beginning of December.
Maybe next month... if I survive, I’ll talk more 🙏

Only after experiencing losses can one become more cautious.

You’ll know a horse’s strength by how far it travels, brother.
