So apparently Big Tech decided the holiday season is the perfect time to roll out workplace surveillance features. Microsoft Teams is launching something in about 8 weeks that'll basically broadcast your location to management.
Both Microsoft and Google are pushing these "visibility updates" right now. Classic timing, right? Just when everyone's distracted with year-end stuff, they sneak in features that make your boss's job of tracking you way easier.
The whole thing feels like another step toward that dystopian office future nobody actually asked for. Makes you wonder if decentralized communication tools might start looking more appealing to folks who value their privacy at work.

We're just waiting to be monitored anyway—privacy has been gone for a long time.

Damn, Microsoft's move is ruthless—sneakily rolling out location tracking during the holidays.
Now the boss can track where I go in real time. Who could have seen this coming?
It's time to move to Web3. Decentralized communication is the way out, guys.
This pace is disgusting. Employees can't even slack off anymore.

ngl, the correlation between holiday chaos and feature rollouts is statistically significant... actually, 87% of surveillance tech launches happen during distraction windows, empirically speaking. decentralized comms aren't a solution though—theoretically speaking, they just shift the attack surface. but yeah, fundamentally this tracks

Damn, this timing is insane. Dropping a location tracking feature at the end of the year and hoping to get away with it?
These big tech companies are getting more and more outrageous. What privacy is left...
The boss can watch you anytime, anywhere. Are we all going to have to install GPS chips for work in the future?
Microsoft and Google are really going hard with these tactics, secretly rolling out this stuff. They really need to reflect on this.
No way, I need to look for some decentralized tools. Otherwise, we’ll just be under constant surveillance.
Sneaking this feature in at the end of the year, they sure know how to play the game...
Just thinking about it makes me uncomfortable. Workplace freedom is basically zero now.
