Don't remind me again today

Fresh research from MIT drops a bombshell: nearly 12% of the workforce could be automated away by AI. That's 11.7% to be exact.

The study breaks down which jobs are actually at risk versus which ones are just hyped up in the automation fear cycle. Turns out, not every role is as replaceable as the headlines suggest.

What's interesting? They're looking at task-level replacement, not just entire job categories. Some positions might see parts of their workflow automated while the human element stays critical.

The numbers hit different when you realize we're talking about millions of workers potentially displaced or needing to reskill. Makes you wonder how fast this shift actually happens versus how fast people assume it will.

Anyone else tracking how this plays into the broader tech employment landscape? The gap between what AI can theoretically do and what companies actually implement is still pretty massive.

Ngl, it's another one of those "AI is going to take jobs" news... 11.7% sounds pretty scary, but when you think about it, there are really very few companies that have actually implemented it.

11.7%...This number looks familiar, I need to check on-chain for the funding flow of MIT, maybe someone already knows.

To be honest, this kind of data appears to be alarming but is not that absolute. Task-level replacements and full-time unemployment are two different things, so don't let the media create panic.
