CoinVoice has recently learned that, according to Cointelegraph, the decentralized telecommunications infrastructure project Helium has announced a partnership with American telecom giant AT&T to integrate its community-built WiFi network into the AT&T service system. According to the protocol, AT&T users can now access over 93,500 hotspot Nodes globally covered by Helium (mainly located in the United States), which are operated by individuals and businesses and maintained through digital asset incentives to support network expansion.

Helium Mobile CEO Amir Haleem stated that this collaboration will accelerate the commercialization of the Decentralization network, allowing users to achieve automatic authentication access through AT&T’s Passpoint WiFi roaming service. Currently, the Helium network has over 800,000 daily active users, and it has previously reached a similar collaboration with the Mexican telecommunications company Telefónica, planning to launch the first free mobile plan in the United States in February 2025.
