Gate News update: On April 8, Danish shipping company Maersk said on the 8th that the ceasefire announced by the United States and Iran is not yet enough to sufficiently ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz. The company said it is taking a cautious view of the current situation and will not resume the related routes that were suspended last month for now. In its statement, Maersk noted that although a two-week ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran may create opportunities for navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, there are still uncertainties regarding maritime safety, and it is necessary to understand the ceasefire’s accompanying conditions. The company said it will continue to closely monitor developments and will provide timely updates on the latest progress based on how the situation changes in the coming hours to days. Maersk emphasized: “Any decision regarding the Strait of Hormuz is based on ongoing risk assessments, close monitoring of the security situation, and guidance from relevant authorities and cooperation partners.” (CCTV News)
