BlockBeats message, March 31: Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Baghaei posted on a social platform, saying that since the United States launched a war against Iran, Iran has not held talks with the United States. “During these 31 days, we did not hold any negotiations with the United States,” Baghaei said. “At present, the situation is that the United States, via certain intermediaries including Pakistan, has conveyed to us the request for talks and a package proposal.” He said Iran’s position on a ceasefire has not changed. “Our position is very clear. At present, because the United States’ military aggression and invasion are still being carried out in full force, all our efforts and capabilities are dedicated to safeguarding Iran’s fundamental interests.”
Baghaei said Iran “will not forget that diplomatic measures were betrayed twice within less than a year.” The first betrayal he referred to is the war that lasted 12 days in June 2025, during which, while the United States and Israel were negotiating, attacks were launched on Iran’s military and nuclear facilities.
