South Korean 20-year-old female suspect used drugs to intoxicate and incapacitate multiple men, resulting in at least 2 deaths and 4 injuries in a series of murders. Police found that she had asked ChatGPT about mixing risks and ignored deadly warnings. This highlights the neutrality and potential dangers of technological tools.
In February this year, South Korea revealed a shocking case of serial murders at a car motel in Seoul’s Gangbuk District. A 20-year-old woman, Kim So-young, was charged with murdering two men. The latest update (3/19) reports that four additional victims were also poisoned and lost consciousness.
Police discovered that before the crimes, Kim So-young repeatedly asked AI chatbot ChatGPT about the dangers of mixing drugs and alcohol. She asked multiple questions, such as “What happens if I take sleeping pills with alcohol,” “How much dosage is dangerous,” and “Could this cause death,” among others.

According to police investigations, the chat records occurred after the first victim fell into a coma in December 2025. Although ChatGPT explicitly responded that mixing sleeping pills with alcohol could lead to death, Kim So-young continued her crimes.
Police accuse that from December 2025 to February 9 this year, Kim So-young contacted men and lured them to motels, allegedly spiking drinks with benzodiazepine-type psychiatric drugs, leading to the deaths of two men.
The first murder occurred on January 28, when Kim So-young and a man entered a motel in Suyu-dong, Seoul’s Gangbuk District. She left alone two hours later, and the man was found dead in the room the next day. Subsequently, on February 9, she used the same method to kill another man at a different motel in Gangbuk District.
