Gate News, March 7 — Amazon’s cloud computing division is launching Amazon Connect Health, an AI tool for healthcare providers. This marks the company’s latest effort to expand its cloud services into the medical field.
The tool can generate medical records from real-time conversations between doctors and patients, automatically add billing, symptoms, and procedure codes, and summarize health data from existing records. Additionally, Amazon Connect Health aims to help patients verify their identity with healthcare providers and schedule and manage appointments.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rowland Illing said, “We know the healthcare industry is completely overwhelmed by administrative complexity.”
Currently, Microsoft, Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc., Oracle, and several startups are also investing in developing AI tools to streamline healthcare management processes.
