24H Volume Amount of transaction volume performed in the last 24 hours

Auto-Deleveraging (ADL) If the insurance fund is insufficient to support a liquidation order, the auto-deleveraging system will turn on and reduce the position of the order with highest return from reverse positions, in order to close the unfilled liquidation order.
ADL Ranking This indicates your positions in the auto-deleverage queue. Your position may be reduced when all lights are lit and liquidation occurs.
Ask Price The prices that traders are willing to accept to sell a given size of contracts for a particular coin on the platform.
API An acronym for Application Programming Interface,which is an intermediary that allows users talk to application or service data in a timely manner.
Average Entry Price (AEP) The consolidated entry price derived from the averaging of multiple entry prices based on multiple entry orders.

Bankruptcy Price Bankruptcy price is calculated by the position margin with the remaining taker fee. When a contract triggers a liquidation, the system will place an order at the bankruptcy price, which means the bankruptcy price will be used as the order price for the liquidation.
Base Currency It is one part of a perpetual contract’s price mechanism (Quote and Base) and mainly quoted in cryptocurrencies and used to calculate margin, fees, and profits/losses.
Bid Price The prices that traders are willing to accept to buy a given size of contracts for a particular coin on the platform.

BUY(LONG) Opening a bullish (price rises and can be profitable) position.

Close by Market A type of market order that comes with close on trigger to close your position.
Close by Limit A type of market order that comes with close on trigger to close your position.
Close on Trigger A close order of the current market positions will be placed when the SL/TP order reaches the trigger price.
Closed PNL Net profit and loss of a trader’s position after fees.
Contract Value The value of the position with respect to its order’s execution price.
Contract Size The unit of measurement for the order size and position size on Gate, and the unit can be chosen from Contracts, Coin or USDT.
Cross Margin It is a type of margin mode that utilizes a trader’s account’s available balance margin into the open position.
Cumulative realized PNL Cumulative realized PNL accounts for all profit and losses, trading and funding fees paid/collected since the first successfully placed trade.

Dual-Price Mechanism Dual price mechanism consists of mark price & last traded price. It is mainly used to protect traders from market manipulations.

Entry Price Shown inside a trader’s closed PNL, this is the average entry price for your open position.
Exit Price Shown inside a trader’s closed PNL, this is the average exit price for your closed position.

Fee to Open Trading fees set aside by the system to afford the estimated trading fee to open the position.

Funding Funding is the primary mechanism to ensure Gate’s last traded price is always anchored to the global spot price.
Funding Rate The funding rate helps keep the contract price close to the underlying asset price, especially for perpetual futures. It is a way for traders who buy (go long) and those who sell (go short) to share costs without the exchange charging fees. Instead of fees, the funding rate changes the cost or profit of holding a contract, ensuring the contract price stays near the underlying asset price. The funding fee is usually settled every 8 hours at 00:00, 08:00, and 16:00 UTC. Some contracts may settle the funding fee every 2 or 4 hours, and specific timing details can be found in the Contract Details.
FillOrKill (FOK) It is a kind of time-in-force (TIF) strategy to allow traders to vary their order execution according to their trading strategies. FOK orders must immediately be executed at the order price or better, otherwise, it will be completely canceled. Partial filling of an order will not be accepted.

GoodTillCancelled (GTC) It is a kind of time-in-force (TIF) strategy to allow traders to vary their order execution according to their trading strategies. GTC orders will remain valid until it is fully filled or manually canceled by the trader.

Hedging Mode Gate’s perpetual contracts support a hedging mode, which allows users to take long and short positions in both sides under one contract.

ImmediateOrCancel (IOC) It is a kind of time-in-force (TIF) strategy to allow traders to vary their order execution according to their trading strategies. IOC orders attempt to fill immediately at the order limit price or better. If the order cannot be filled immediately, the unfilled contracts will be automatically canceled.
Impact Ask Price The average fill price to execute the Impact Funding Cost Notional on the Ask side. This is used to calculate the Premium Index, which in turn is used to calculate the Funding Rate.
Impact Bid Price The average fill price to execute the Impact Funding Cost Notional on the Bid side. This is used to calculate the Premium Index, which in turn is used to calculate the Funding Rate.
Impact Funding Cost Notional This is the amount that can be traded with a fixed margin, and is used to determine how deep in the order book to measure either the Impact Bid or Ask Price.
Index Price Gate’s index prices are derived from the average prices of multiple exchanges.
Initial Margin Initial Margin is the amount of margin collateral required to open a position for leverage trading.
Inverse Contract Gate’s inverse contract refers to the BTC/USD contract in BTC-M perpetual contract, where USD is the base currency, and BTC is the quote currency and settle currency.
Isolated Margin Under the isolated margin mode, there is a fixed value of the position margin.

Last Traded Price (LTP) It refers to the last fill price at Gate’s current market. To avoid unnecessary liquidation and to combat market manipulation, Gate uses mark price to determine liquidation instead of the LTP.
Limit Order Limit order is an order type that allows traders to place orders at an order price better than current best bid/ask prices inside the order book.
Liquidation Liquidation refers to the event when the position’s margin is unable to maintain above the maintenance margin requirements, causing the complete loss of the entire margin collateral. On Gate, liquidation occurs when the margin level falls to 100% or below.

Maintenance Margin Maintenance Margin is the minimum margin required to continue holding a position.
Market Depth Market depth refers to the order book’s ability to sustain relatively large market orders without impacting its execution price.
Market Order A market order is an order type that is executed immediately at the current best available market prices inside the order book.

Order Book It is an electronic list of buy and sell orders for Gate’s perpetual contracts organized and sorted by price level.
Order Cost Order cost consists of the initial margin of the position + fee to open + fee to close.
Order History Order history records all the orders that have been successfully placed by the trader on the platform.
Order ID Order ID is uniquely assigned to each individual order successfully placed on the platform.
Order Margin Order margin consists of the sum of all margins for active orders that are pending for execution.
Order Price Order price is the price that traders can manually input when setting up limit orders.

Premium Index Premium index is the basis difference between the intraday price and the external price.

Realized PNL The real PNL that occurs after the position is closed, and calculated based on the user’s entry price and exit price.
Reduce-Only An additional option to limit orders, this function serves to ensure that the order will be executed as a position closing order to reduce a position size.
Return Profit and loss. Inside the Gate calculator, this highlights a position’s PNL relative to the position’s contract value.
Return Rate Profit and loss percentage. Inside the Gate calculator, this highlights a position’s PNL relative to the position’s contract value in terms of percentage.
Reverse Position It will close the position at the best price in the market and open an opposite position at the same price (same trading pair, same leverage and same size), so as to help you quickly open and close the position and grasp the market opportunity when market reversal.
Risk Limit Risk Limit refers to the machinery set-up to prevent the great impact on the contract market caused by the huge liquidation amount.
ROE Return of Equity. Inside the Gate calculator, this highlights a position’s PNL relative to the initial margin in terms of percentage.

SELL(SHORT) Opening a bearish (price falls and can be profitable) position.
Stop-Loss (SL) A stop-loss order is an order placed to limit a trader’s losses on an existing open position. SL orders can be easily placed via the SL/TP function.

Take-Profit (TP) A take-profit order is an order placed to close a trader’s position at a profit. TP orders can be easily placed via the SL/TP function.
Target Price The target price is the estimated exit price to close your position based on a predetermined ROE shown inside the calculator.
Tiered Margin Tiered margin means that the larger the position/order size, the higher the required initial/maintenance margin rate. This forms the Risk Limit mechanism on the platform.
Time In Force (TIF) “Time in Force” is a set of order execution strategies to allow advanced traders to vary the order’s effective execution method to suit their trading needs.
Trade History Trade History records the transaction details of all your successfully filled orders, trading fees and funding fees that were paid/collected.
Trading Fee The trading fees received/payable by the traders to fill orders on the platform.
Trigger Order A premium order that is automatically submitted and executed after the selected reference price (last price, mark price) reaches the trigger price.
Trigger Price Trigger price refers to the predetermined price criteria that can be set to trigger conditional orders or SL/TP on the platform.
