Golden Finance reports, on April 7, according to Iranian state media, Iran on Monday proposed a ten-point plan aimed at ending its war with the United States and Israel. The proposal was conveyed by Pakistan, but it does not seem likely to resolve major issues before the final deadline set by Trump. Two senior Iranian officials said the proposal includes assurances that Iran will not be attacked again, stopping Israel’s strikes on Hezbollah in Lebanon, and lifting all sanctions. In return, Iran would end the effective blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a key shipping lane. Under the plan, Iran would charge about $2 million for each transiting vessel and split it with Oman on the other side of the strait. Under the plan, Iran would use the proceeds to rebuild infrastructure destroyed by attacks from the United States and Israel, rather than directly seeking reparations. (The New York Times)
