On November 6th, as Eastern Standard Time officially entered November 6th, the U.S. federal government “shutdown” entered its 37th day, breaking the record for the longest “shutdown” in history. The U.S. government previously experienced a “shutdown” for 35 days from the end of 2018 to the beginning of 2019. Earlier reports today indicated that according to Polymarket data, the probability of the “U.S. government shutdown ending after November 16th” has risen significantly to 44%, which may mean that the U.S. government will struggle to “open” in the short term. Additionally, the probability of the shutdown ending between November 4th and 7th is currently reported at 3%, the probability of it ending between November 8th and 11th is 22%; and the probability of it ending between November 12th and 15th is 30%.
