According to news from 深潮 TechFlow on April 25, as reported by Bitcoin.com News citing the Russian national news media Izvestia, the Russian Central Bank has updated the implementation roadmap for the digital ruble (Central Bank Digital Currency, CBDC), planning to officially launch large payment functions in 2026. Anna Katamadze, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, stated that citizens will be able to make payments through the digital Wallet on the Russian Central Bank platform.

Earlier this March, Elvira Nabiullina, the Governor of the Central Bank of Russia, announced the postponement of the launch of the digital ruble. Currently, the digital ruble has completed pilot testing, with participation from 15 banks, 1,700 citizens, and approximately 30 companies. The Russian government plans to use the digital ruble for budget payments and subsidy disbursement to strengthen the regulation of fund flows and prevent corruption among government personnel.
