Former Chief Economist of the Bank of Japan: October interest rate stance is difficult to determine.

On September 5, Jin10 reported that former chief economist of the Bank of Japan, Takahiro Sakane, stated that the market is increasingly speculating that the Bank of Japan may raise interest rates in October, which underestimates the level of uncertainty brought by Trump's tariff policy. He said, "What I want to say is that the uncertainty may be greater than market participants imagine. If I were still the chief economist of the Bank of Japan, I would say no to determining the impact of tariffs before October." Before Takahiro Sakane's remarks, signs of economic recovery prompted economists to list October as the most likely time for the Bank of Japan's next interest rate hike. The veteran economist stated that he would not completely rule out the possibility of an interest rate hike, as a range of factors including the Exchange Rate would influence this decision. However, it is difficult for authorities to assert that economic risks have fully receded by then.

Glassnode: If Bitcoin falls below $104,000, it could trigger a price dip to between $93,000 and $95,000.

According to Glassnode analysis, Bitcoin shows positive signs of buying pullbacks within the "blank range" of $108,000 to $116,000, but there are short-term downside risks. A breakout above $114,000 to $116,000 would drive an upward trend; if it falls below $104,000, it could drop to $93,000 to $95,000. The market needs to recover to boost confidence, while ETF inflows are slowing.

Bitunix analyst: Trump tariff lawsuit intensifies, market uncertainty drags down encryption trend.

BlockBeats news, on September 3, U.S. President Trump announced that he would appeal to the Supreme Court to overturn a federal court ruling that deemed "most tariffs illegal." He warned that if he loses, the U.S. may have to refund trillions of dollars in tariffs. This move highlights the legal risks of his trade policy and brings high uncertainty to the global supply chain and market. The dollar index weakened after the news, the stock market came under pressure, and investors turned to a wait-and-see approach. In the crypto market, the BTC short-term support is in the range of 109,000–109,300, with upward pressure concentrated around 113,500–114,000. Prices are oscillating around 111,000, and the market liquidity distribution shows an intensified range-bound situation. Bitunix analysts suggest: The tariff dispute involving Trump adds uncertainty to the policy path, and if the dollar fluctuates further, it will increase the volatility of crypto assets. It is recommended to follow the U.S. Supreme.

Binance: Assisted in freezing 47 million USD related to Pig-butchering scams in the Asia-Pacific region last year.

PANews reported on August 28 that Binance disclosed that in June 2024, after a multi-stakeholder investigation supported by Binance, Chainalysis, and other industry partners, law enforcement agencies in the Asia-Pacific region froze nearly $50 million in illegal funds. In the case that year, the Chainalysis investigation team used Blockchain analysis techniques to trace funds related to another active scam network in Southeast Asia. They tracked transactions of dozens of victims from November 2022 to July 2023, identifying a series of integrated wallets controlled by the scammers. The criminals concentrated funds into a main wallet, distributing them through intermediate addresses to five final wallets, which collectively held nearly $47 million USDT. To prolong the scam, the scammers would also return a small amount of funds. After receiving intelligence, the Asia-Pacific law enforcement agencies instructed stablecoin issuers to freeze the funds in June, and investigators acted quickly to prevent the illegal proceeds from being cashed out.

Trump threatens to seek the death penalty in Washington murder case

Jin10 reported on August 27 that Trump threatened that prosecutors would seek the death penalty for those convicted of murder in Washington D.C. "If someone kills in the capital, Washington D.C., we will seek the death penalty, this is a very strong deterrent," Trump stated during a cabinet meeting on Tuesday. The federal government took over the Washington police department earlier this month and deployed the National Guard on the streets to address what Trump called "out of control crime and decay." Given that the death penalty is not popular in liberal states and cities, Trump's threat may spark greater controversy. Prosecutions of adult criminal cases in Washington are handled by the U.S. Attorney's Office under the Department of Justice, not local authorities. Former President Biden ordered a moratorium on the federal death penalty in 2021, citing that the punishment is inhumane, while Trump lifted that moratorium on his first day in office.

Analysis: Interest payments on stablecoins should be prohibited, as it would undermine efficiency and stability.

According to Golden Finance, Hans Gersbach and other scholars from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH) presented a speech on "Contagious Stablecoins?" at the World Economists Conference (ESWC) that opened on the 18th. "In an environment where multiple issuers are competing, if one issuer starts paying interest, then other issuers cannot afford to not follow suit. This will lead to overall inefficiency and instability in the stablecoin system." They added, "The interest payment mechanism of this stablecoin is contagious and may ultimately lead to a series of issues. Therefore, prohibiting interest payments through regulation is a core measure to maintain an efficient stablecoin market." Scholars have also pointed out that in the so-called "stablecoin secondary market," if investors do not redeem directly from the issuer but circulate through market transactions, any failure in adjustment can also trigger panic, which also needs to be addressed.
