IREN appoints Anthony Lewis as CFO after major earnings beat

IREN announced in a company press release that Anthony Lewis would succeed Belinda Nucifora after the latter’s 3.5-year tenure as CFO. Lewis, who joined IREN in July 2025 as Chief Capital Officer, will continue to lead the company’s capital markets strategy and financing activities while assuming full responsibility for financial operations, reporting, and strategic planning.

Prior to IREN, Lewis spent 22 years at Macquarie Group, most recently as Co-Treasurer overseeing global funding, liquidity, capital management, and regulatory reporting. His appointment comes as IREN advances its AI Cloud expansion, scaling up to 10,900 NVIDIA GPUs, and maintains roughly 50 EH/s of bitcoin-mining capacity.

As CFO, Lewis aims to integrate his capital-markets expertise with oversight of IREN’s broader financial functions, supporting the company’s dual-track strategy in AI infrastructure and bitcoin mining.

IREN recently had a breakout quarter where they reported a 228% year over year revenue growth and beat earnings per share estimates by over 16%. Immediately following the earnings report, IREN surged and overtook MARA as the largest publicly traded bitcoin miner by market cap.
