Crypto analyst Joao Wedson, in his latest statement, made important assessments regarding the short-term outlook of Bitcoin. Wedson noted that the Risk Cap metric is currently signaling a short-term get dumped based on existing data, but significant developments could occur in the coming months.

The Risk Cap metric measures the risk level of an asset by analyzing the relationship between market cap ( and capital change ). This indicator, normalized over 24-hour periods, provides significant data about Bitcoin's price volatility and risk levels.

  • The Risk Cap metric peaked in March 2024.
  • A lower peak was formed in December, indicating a loss of momentum in market value.

Wedson reiterated that he has a short-term expectation for Bitcoin to get dumped, stating that the altcoin season is approaching but will gain momentum towards the end of April.

The analyst emphasized that even if Bitcoin gets dumped, the overall upward trend could continue:

  • Although a pullback of up to 64,000 dollars is possible, the bull market may continue. ( A similar situation occurred in 2021. )
  • Stating that he sold Bitcoin in the range of $ 102,000 – $ 106,000, Wedson stated that the general upward trend may continue despite the current weakness.

According to Wedson, Bitcoin could reach a new all-time high by October 2025. However, the main movement is expected to be on the altcoin side. The analyst believes that especially smaller and newly launched projects could stand out in the market by pulling liquidity from older projects. Wedson states that this cycle could last until November-December 2025, and advises investors to turn their attention to the altcoin market.
