The U.S. military will expand the scope of its blockade on maritime shipments to Iran.

Mars Finance reports that on April 16, the U.S. military announced that it will expand the scope of its maritime blockade against Iran, including smuggling items such as ammunition and weapons. Ships suspected of transporting prohibited goods to Iran, regardless of their location, will be subject to the “belligerent nation’s right of visit and search” and may be seized. The prohibited items also include oil, petroleum refining products, iron, steel, and aluminum. (Reuters)
