U.S. media: High-ranking officials' residences, including Hugseseth, are now under unknown drone surveillance; the U.S. military is intensifying monitoring of potential threats.
According to The Washington Post on the 18th, citing multiple sources with knowledge of the matter, unidentified drones have recently appeared one after another over the U.S. Washington, D.C. McNair Military Base. The base is currently the residence of U.S. Secretary of State Rubio and Defense Secretary Hegseth. This abnormal situation has prompted deep concern on the U.S. side.
An anonymous senior U.S. government official confirmed that the U.S. military has entered a higher state of alert and is stepping up monitoring of potential threats. It is reported that on one night within the past 10 days, several unidentified drones appeared in the airspace over McNair. Not only did the incident prompt the White House to convene an emergency meeting to discuss countermeasures, it also directly led to an upgrade of security measures in the area.
Meanwhile, this week, the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey and MacDill Air Force Base in Florida have raised the troops’ protection level to “Charlie,” meaning that commanders have intelligence indicating that an attack is “possible.” (Global Times)
