French Minister: New measures will be introduced to address the frequent occurrence of crypto-related kidnapping incidents
Mars Finance News: French Interior Minister Jean-Didier Berger announced at Paris Blockchain Week that France is preparing to introduce new measures to protect cryptocurrency holders. He revealed that authorities have launched a prevention platform and attracted thousands of registrations, and are working with Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez to develop more comprehensive response plans, which are expected to be implemented within the next few weeks. In this context, France has experienced 41 crypto-related kidnapping cases in 2026, averaging one every 2.5 days; globally, such “wrench attack” incidents increased by 75% year-over-year in 2025. France is the most affected country worldwide, accounting for about 40% of the total incidents in Europe.
