#Gate13周年 #我与Gate的故事

One The evening when a friend "dragged me in"
I never thought that I would stay in the crypto world for three years.
The initial resistance was genuine. At that time, people around me started talking about Bitcoin, "on-chain," airdrops, and IPOs. I treated it all as background noise, politely smiled, and changed the subject. To me, the crypto circle was a boiling pot of soup, full of bubbles, high risk, and easy to get burned if you stood too close.
But I couldn't resist my friend's gentle persuasion. She said, you don't need to buy anything, just register and take a look, get familiar. Her tone was light, like inviting me for a cup of tea.
I couldn't refuse her, nor could I resist my own curiosity hidden behind my resistance. I opened Gate, entered my email, clicked confirm, and just like that, the name "Jing. He" was registered on this exchange founded in 2013. At that time, I didn't know that this one step would lead to three years.

二、First trade: trembling as I pressed the confirm button
After registering, I stayed in the app for a long time, just watching, not acting. The market page was filled with numbers jumping, green and red alternating, like some language I couldn't understand.
Until one day, I gathered my courage and bought a little USDT, then quickly exchanged it for some mainstream coins. The amount wasn't large, but my heartbeat was fast.
At the moment that trade was completed, I stared at the holdings page, and for the first time, I truly felt "real money is flowing." Not a game, not digital numbers on paper, but something that can go up and down. That feeling is hard to describe—partly fear, partly excitement.
Later, I realized that this "excitement" wasn't about gambling; it was a real sense of participation. It was like I was no longer just looking in from outside this era, but gently pushing open a crack.

三、That late night at YuBiBao
Gradually, I started to settle here. For a while, the market was bad, and I cleared most of my positions. I had a lot of idle USDT and didn't know what to do with it. A friend suggested I check out YuBiBao, saying that leaving funds idle was a waste. I tried subscribing to some flexible savings. The interest rate wasn't high, but seeing that small daily income made me feel grounded—it's not about getting rich quickly, but about steady, long-term peace of mind. Since then, my habits changed. I no longer let my idle assets sleep there; I let them run quietly. That was probably my first step from being a "spectator" to a "participant"—not because of how much I earned, but because I started to take every asset seriously.

四、First live stream and that night that made me stay
What truly gave me a sense of "belonging" to Gate was the live stream room of Gate Live.
The first time I entered, I was pushed by a notification, planning to watch for a few minutes and then leave. But the host was explaining on-chain data of a project, with charts, speaking at a steady pace. I found myself captivated. In the comment section, people were discussing, asking questions, and sharing memes—at that moment, this place was no longer just a "trading tool," but more like a lively community.
Later, I developed a habit: on nights of market volatility, I would open the live stream, not necessarily to learn some dry knowledge, but just to hear a steady voice amid the market noise.

五、In 2026, Gate's 13th anniversary, my third year
By 2026, Gate celebrated its 13th anniversary!
13 years—when I think of this number in relation to the crypto industry, I feel it’s heavy—having gone through multiple bull and bear markets, countless doubts and storms, and still here! Not every exchange can survive 13 years.
This anniversary theme was "Gateway to iWeb3." Gate turned it into a nearly two-month-long journey: early bird registration quizzes, time capsule collection, a million-dollar prize pool, WCTC S8 global trading contest… The scale and thoughtfulness show that this platform wanted to seriously say something at this milestone. I participated in the early bird registration, answered the questions, and got that "ticket"—a digital "passport." The moment I received it, I felt a strange emotion—three years ago, I knew nothing about candlesticks or on-chain data, and now I was answering questions about on-chain knowledge and even got them right.

六、To my former resistant self
If I could go back, I wouldn’t tell my past self "buy coins quickly, you can make money." I would only say: This place isn’t what you imagine the crypto world to be. You will encounter a lot of chaos, but you will also experience moments that make you truly think about what "value" really is. You will gradually develop your own judgment, learn to coexist with volatility, and learn to put "stability" before "speed."
That friend’s words, "just take a look first," didn’t lie to me.

Gate’s 13 years is a journey through cycles, and my three years are just a small page within it. But this page is filled with the story of a former skeptic slowly sitting down, gradually opening up, and eventually finding his rhythm in this space. Quiet, steady. Just like my name—Jing.He.
