The 2026 Central Government Financial Policies for Supporting Agriculture, Benefiting Farmers, and Enriching Farmers Released
A reporter learned from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs that the 2026 list of central government policies for strengthening agriculture, benefiting farmers, and enriching rural areas has been officially released. The list includes 16 key items, such as subsidies for protecting farmland productivity, subsidies for the purchase and application of agricultural machinery, and subsidies for wheat’s “one spray, three protections” program.
This year, China will continue to implement corn and soybean producer subsidies in the Northeast region, and rice subsidies in major rice-producing provinces, to safeguard national food security. It will continue to provide agricultural insurance premium subsidies for 16 major agricultural products across three categories: crop planting, livestock and aquaculture breeding, and forestry. It will also continue to carry out the “Rain and Dew Program,” under which the subsidy recipients are those who are targeted to prevent a return to poverty or poverty worsening, as well as families of previously registered households that were lifted out of poverty and still need continued assistance, where new growth labor force members who are receiving secondary or higher vocational education are entering the labor force.
For the above policies, central government funds are allocated to provinces based on the factors calculated in accordance with relevant provisions. Provinces, in turn, organize at the grassroots level to further refine the subsidy scope, support targets, and subsidy standards according to local conditions and in line with requirements, and they ensure that relevant information is disclosed and publicized in accordance with regulations. The related direct subsidy funds are paid directly to households through “One Card Pass.”
