Mars Finance reports that the crypto wallet Zerion disclosed that North Korean hackers used AI to conduct long-term social engineering attacks, stealing about $100,000 from the company’s hot wallet. Zerion confirmed that user funds, applications, and infrastructure were not affected, and that it had proactively disabled the web application as a precaution. Zerion also stated that the attackers obtained some team members’ logged-in sessions and credentials, as well as the company’s hot wallet private key, and noted that AI is changing how cyber threats operate.
