Recently, I saw someone watching large on-chain transfers and hot/cold wallets on exchanges, shouting "Smart money is coming" at every move. To be honest, my first reaction wasn't excitement, but rather thinking: Who holds the wallet permissions? Can they be moved at will? The long-term value of many "brand member PFPs" isn't really about how good the avatar looks, but whether the rules can be easily changed—like an admin issuing new tokens with a click, blacklisting at will, or changing profit parameters whenever they want. Such stories only attract short-term attention.
The one trick I use to avoid impulsive orders is: first, check the contract/permissions. If I see strange owner, pause, upgrade, or other unclear terms, I close the chart and go drink water... Come back after ten minutes, and if I still want to buy, then consider it. Anyway, missing out is more comfortable than getting caught in a trap.
