Crypto World Network reported on April 15 that European countries are working on a plan to establish a broad international alliance to help restore freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. The measures include dispatching minesweepers and other military vessels. However, the plan would be implemented only after the war, and it may specifically exclude a particular country: the United States. The Wall Street Journal reported that on Tuesday, French President Emmanuel Macron said the plan is intended to form an international defensive mission that would not include the “belligerent” sides—namely the United States, Israel, and Iran. European diplomats familiar with the plan said European vessels would not be under U.S. command. The goal of this European plan is to give shipping companies confidence to use the strait after hostilities end. Officials said it may still take some time before the fighting ends. According to a senior German official, Europe’s plan will very likely include Germany.
