ME News report, April 6 (UTC+8). According to the AXIOS website, four people familiar with the negotiations—sources from the United States, Israel, and the region—said that the United States, Iran, and a group of regional mediators are discussing the terms of a potential 45-day ceasefire agreement that could ultimately put an end to the war. The sources said that the likelihood of reaching a partial agreement within the next 48 hours is low, but this last-ditch effort is the only chance to prevent the war from escalating sharply.

A 10-day deadline set by President Trump for Iran was originally due to expire late on Monday. However, on Sunday, Trump extended the deadline by 20 hours and posted a new cutoff time on his social media platform, “Truth Social”: 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday. On Sunday, Trump told AXIOS that the United States is conducting “intensive negotiations” with Iran and said that an agreement could be reached before his Tuesday deadline. (Source: PANews)
