🔥Israel and Lebanon hold talks in Washington, lasting over two hours
On April 15, according to personnel from the Israeli Embassy in the United States, talks between Lebanon and Israel in Washington concluded after more than two hours. Representatives from the governments of Israel and Lebanon held direct talks in the U.S. capital of Washington on the 14th. It is understood that Israel and Lebanon have not established diplomatic relations; this talks session was the first direct meeting between non-military officials from the two countries in decades. On that day, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio met with the delegations from both Israel and Lebanon, and also attended the talks held within the State Department. The Israeli and Lebanese delegations were led, respectively, by Yehiel Leiter, Israel’s ambassador to the U.S., and Nader Hamad Muawad, Lebanon’s ambassador to the U.S. U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Michelle Issa and State Department advisor Michael Nideem also attended the talks.
