My cousin, with an annual salary of 480k yuan, got divorced last year.
The reason might sound unbelievable—you might not believe it—his ex-wife asked him to help her younger brother pay 3,800 yuan a month for a car loan.
My cousin said: No way.
The next day, his mother-in-law personally called: If you don’t agree, my daughter will divorce you.
My cousin said: Okay.
After hanging up, he immediately printed the divorce agreement and signed it that night.
His ex-wife was still sneering then: Who are you trying to scare? In a few days, he’ll be begging me to come back on his knees.
But what happened? The next day, my cousin changed the locks, and on the third day, he changed his social media background from a couple photo to a Porsche (which he just bought).
His ex-wife moved back to her parents’ house and stayed for three months, but things felt increasingly off.
She discovered: she used to earn 5,000 yuan a month, but was living a lifestyle that cost her an annual salary of 480k yuan. She wanted to buy bags, go traveling. Now? She hesitates even to buy a cup of milk tea for her colleagues.
What’s even more heartbreaking—her mother was still paying the monthly installments for her brother’s car. Her brother didn’t pay a single cent.
Her mother still insisted: That man is too stingy, it’s better to divorce him.
Until one day, the ex-wife was having dinner with a colleague, and the colleague casually mentioned: Hey, do you know? Your ex-husband has a new girlfriend, she’s apparently a university teacher, looks like a celebrity.
The ex-wife dropped her chopsticks on the spot.
She started frantically scrolling through her ex-husband’s social media—found that she had been deleted. She kept scrolling, searching everywhere she could, but saw nothing.
She couldn’t hold back anymore and deliberately went to a mall she used to frequent on the weekend.
And she really caught him.
Her ex-husband was hugging a girl, helping her carry her bag, whispering something in her ear, and the girl was smiling with her eyes crinkled.
The ex-wife took a deep breath, stepped in her high heels, and walked up, deliberately blocking their view, smiling and saying: Oh, what a coincidence?
Guess how her ex-husband reacted?
He looked at her as if seeing a stranger, hugged his new girlfriend, and walked past without saying a word.
He didn’t say anything.
The ex-wife was stunned, standing there for a full two minutes. Then she took out her phone and called her mom, the first thing she said was: Mom, you’ve ruined me.
