So I had to figure out how to check my SRD banking details after my account got flagged, and honestly the process is way more straightforward than I thought. If you're trying to verify your SRD banking details, you basically need to go through the official SASSA SRD portal - don't use random websites because there are definitely sketchy ones out there claiming they can help.

For checking and updating your info, you'll need your SA ID number and your Application ID. The portal walks you through it pretty clearly. You input your ID, they send you a secure SMS link, and boom you can see what's registered and make changes if needed. The bank account has to be in your name though, so if you've got a joint account or something, that won't work.

If you're changing your banking details, just know it takes a few days to a couple weeks for the bank verification to go through. Same deal with updating your phone number - you'll get an OTP sent to confirm it's actually you. One thing that tripped me up was the deadline thing. If you're on a permanent grant, you need to submit changes before the 15th of the month or you're waiting another cycle. SRD is more flexible since it's all online, but still, don't sleep on it.

Honestly if the online portal gives you grief, just call the SASSA helpline at 0800 60 10 11. I know waiting on hold sucks, but they're actually pretty helpful when the system acts up. Some people also go in person to their local SASSA office, which takes longer but gets the job done if you're having tech issues.
