ME News Report, April 6 (UTC+8), Mehdi Tabatabaei, Deputy Director of News and Communications Affairs at the Iranian Presidential Office, issued a stern statement on regional tensions and the passage through the Strait of Hormuz. Tabatabaei harshly criticized U.S. President Trump and his policies on social media, accusing him of resorting to insults out of “desperation and anger,” and claimed that his reckless actions have triggered a full-scale war in the region. Regarding the control of the Strait of Hormuz, Tabatabaei proposed that the strait will only be fully reopened after establishing a new legal framework and using past shipping tax revenues to compensate Iran for all losses suffered during previous wars.
