On April 8, 58.com released the Q1 2026 talent mobility data, showing that recruitment and job seeking are both heating up in Beijing, with strong labor demand in new first-tier cities such as Chengdu, Chongqing, and Wuhan.
As companies fully resume work and production, the potential for consumption in services like catering and housekeeping is accelerating, with recruitment for positions such as waiters and general workers remaining among the top demands.
58.com data shows that in the first quarter, enterprise recruitment demand increased by 12.5% month-on-month, with job application submissions rising in tandem.
From a city perspective, among the top 15 cities with the most active recruitment demand, Chengdu, Shenzhen, and Chongqing rank the top three; Wuhan, Dongguan, Suzhou, and Hangzhou, among other new first-tier cities, are also among the most active recruitment cities, becoming key engines driving nationwide recruitment growth.
In terms of talent flow direction, the top five cities for resume submissions are Beijing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
Represented by Beijing, first-tier cities continue to attract many job seekers due to abundant career opportunities and higher salary levels.
Notably, Hangzhou’s resume submissions increased by 35% month-on-month, with Chongqing and Dongguan both exceeding 20% growth.
Salary levels are a crucial factor in talent placement.
In Q1, the average monthly recruitment salary in the top 15 most active cities was 7,787 yuan, with Shanghai leading at 9,417 yuan.
The average monthly salaries in Beijing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, and Guangzhou were 8,826 yuan, 8,647 yuan, 8,411 yuan, and 8,053 yuan, respectively.
Looking at specific positions, the absorption effect in the service and manufacturing industries continues to be prominent.
58.com data shows that among the top 15 active recruitment positions nationwide in Q1, waiters, general workers/operators, and sales representatives ranked the top three.
Positions such as shop assistants/sales clerks, beauticians, clerks, and delivery riders also saw strong demand, covering fields like daily services, manufacturing, and retail trade.
From the nationwide job seeker application preferences, the top three positions in application volume are general workers/operators, waiters, and security guards.
Basic positions like packers, clerks, and shop assistants/sales clerks are also popular.
Among many hot positions, gig delivery roles stand out for their attractive salaries.
Average monthly recruitment salary for delivery/rider positions reached 8,238 yuan, ranking first;
average monthly salary for food delivery riders was 8,176 yuan.
In Beijing, salary levels are even more competitive, with ride-hailing drivers earning an average of 12,487 yuan per month, and business drivers earning 12,229 yuan.
Salaries for roles like beauticians, chefs, and cleaners have also seen significant month-on-month increases.
