A fun friend-making app, I've tried various ones recently, and the options are really increasing. A few years ago, there were hardly any apps dedicated purely to finding friends, not dating.
It's impressive that there are quite a few women-only apps. Touch and DotMatch, for example, have 24-hour monitoring and identity verification, which makes them feel much safer. The timeline feature allows you to casually find people in a social media-like way, which is also great. If you're looking for hobby friends, choosing an app where you can search by hobbies or days off in the profile makes it easier to meet people whose schedules actually match.
There are also apps like Bumble that can switch to a friend-making mode, which seems easier for people who want to make opposite-sex friends or for men. The lower fees for men are also attractive. However, no app is perfect—some have limited search functions, lack monitoring systems, and involve trade-offs. There are niche apps like Somri for people in their 30s and 40s, or golf-specific apps like GolWho, which shows how diverse hobby-based friend-making has become.
In the end, you can only choose based on what kind of friends you're looking for and which features matter most to you. Choosing a hobby friend-making app is less about the app itself and more about clarifying your own purpose.
