Facial serums for acne care really come in many varieties, don't they? From Muji to Etvos, Ipsa, there was a time I was unsure which one to choose. Recently, after trying various products, I realized that the serums you should pick are completely different depending on whether you have dry skin or sensitive skin.

First, for sensitive skin, NOV's Barrier Concentrate is quite excellent. It contains glycyrrhetinic acid stearyl ester, which prevents skin irritation, and has moisturizing power that increases water content by 77% two hours after application. Some people feel it’s sticky, but for dry skin, I think a richer formula like this is better. Also, for sensitive skin, Curel’s Moisturizing Emulsion is overwhelmingly effective with 102% water retention. It’s affordable too, so it’s worth trying.

If you want to combine acne prevention and whitening care, I recommend Etvos’ Medicated Acne VC Cream Gel. It contains hyaluronic acid and human-type ceramides, making it easy to use even for sensitive skin. For adults with recurring acne, Ipsa’s Pimple Clear is also a candidate. Its double approach with tranexamic acid and glycyrrhizic acid potassium makes it attractive because it can be used regardless of skin type.

However, if moisturizing power is your priority, it’s safer to choose a serum that supports the skin’s barrier function. While combining with lotions or creams is important, if you want to rely solely on a serum, checking the richness of moisturizing ingredients is key. The best choice is to select according to your skin concerns.
