Hey, I just found out that since February, the fines for parking in a prohibited area in Jalisco have increased significantly. Now they range between 1,173 and 2,932 pesos depending on where you leave the car. All because the UMA was updated to 117.31 pesos.
What surprised me is that if you pay quickly, you have a chance. If you settle the fine within the first 10 business days, they give you a 50% direct discount. And if you wait a little longer but still pay between days 11 and 20, they deduct 25%. So it's not so bad if you act fast.
Paying the fine for parking in a prohibited area in Jalisco is now quite easy. You go to the official portal, enter your license plate, some digits of the VIN, and that's it. You pay with a card from home and download the receipt. Much better than going to an office. Honestly, it's worth checking carefully where you park because these changes hit your wallet.
