Insider: The issuance process for Hong Kong's first batch of compliant stablecoin licenses has temporarily been delayed

ME News message. On April 2 (UTC+8), according to the latest disclosures from insiders, the process for issuing Hong Kong’s first batch of compliant stablecoin license(s) has temporarily been delayed, and no official representative has made any public response yet.

According to earlier media reports, Hong Kong’s first batch of stablecoin issuer licenses was originally scheduled to be issued in March 2026, but no official announcement has been made as of now. A spokesperson for the Hong Kong Monetary Authority said that the Hong Kong Monetary Authority is fully advancing the licensing process and will make public announcements in due course.
