Been scrolling through some interesting projects lately that haven't quite hit that psychological $1 barrier yet, but honestly, they might be closer than you'd think. Let me break down what's catching my eye in the next crypto to hit $1 territory.
First up, Dogecoin. Yeah, I know, meme coin and all that, but hear me out. DOGE peaked near $0.73 back in 2021, so it's only sitting about $0.09 right now. If it does eventually hit $1, we're talking roughly 1,010% upside. The market cap math is wild too - it would jump to around $168.8 billion, making it the third-biggest crypto after Bitcoin and Ethereum. The halving cycles and general meme coin momentum could actually make this happen.
Then there's Kaspa, which is doing something different with its blockDAG structure instead of traditional blockchain. It hit $0.21 in August 2024 but has pulled back to around $0.03 now. Getting to $1 would require a massive 2,793% jump and push its market cap to $27.2 billion. The community around this one is solid though, and the tech is legit.
Stellar's been around forever and actually has real-world use cases for cross-border payments. XLM trades at $0.15 currently, so hitting $1 means a 694% move. It's touched $0.60+ before during bull runs, so $1 doesn't feel impossible, just needs the right market conditions. Market cap would land around $28.7 billion if it gets there.
Hedera's probably the most enterprise-focused of the bunch. HBAR was at $0.57 in the 2021 run and is now sitting at $0.09. The 980% climb to $1 would put it at $43 billion market cap. They've got real corporate backing and serious tech, which counts for something.
Honestly though, whether any of these actually hit that next crypto to hit $1 milestone depends way more on Bitcoin and overall market sentiment than individual project fundamentals. If BTC rallies hard post-halving, we might see multiple of these make the jump. But if we get a bear market, forget about it. That's just how interconnected everything is in crypto.
