The whole system is designed to be electronic-only, which honestly makes it smoother than the permanent grant process.
Phone number updates follow a similar pattern - permanent grants need you to call the helpline at 0800 60 10 11 or visit an office, while SRD has its own online contact portal where you can change your number and get an OTP sent for verification. One thing I'd stress: always use the official SASSA links and never trust random websites claiming to help with changing bank details online. Fraud is real out there.
