Abstract generation in progress

The European Commission has designated several major technology companies, including Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, ByteDance, Meta, and Microsoft, as “gatekeepers” under the Digital Markets Act (DMA). This designation, which began in September 2023 and has seen updates through May 2024, subjects 23 core platform services to specific regulations. Notably, Booking.com was designated a gatekeeper in May 2024, while Facebook Marketplace was undesignated in April 2025.
