Latest Audio Disclosure: Iran's New Supreme Leader Narrowly Escaped, Was Taking a Garden Stroll at His Residence Just Minutes Before the Attack
According to a report on the UK Daily Telegraph website on the 16th, cited by China’s Reference News on the 21st, Iran’s new Supreme Leader narrowly escaped an airstrike by the United States and Israel because he was out for a walk in his garden just minutes before missiles hit his residence.
A leaked audio obtained by the Daily Telegraph reveals that Mujetaba Khamenei was also a target in the attack that killed his father and other members of the Islamic Republic leadership. However, just before an Israeli “Blue Sparrow” missile struck his home at 9:32 a.m. local time on February 28, he happened to be out for a “matter” outside.
Mazaher Hosseini, an official from Ali Khamenei’s office, gave a speech to senior clerics and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commanders, providing the first detailed account of the situation when the Supreme Leader’s residence was attacked.
Mujetaba Khamenei lived with his father at a residence in Tehran, Iran’s capital. There was also a religious venue where Ali Khamenei would give speeches. Other children of Ali Khamenei also reside there.
On February 28, Ali Khamenei and senior security officials were in a meeting when the missile struck the residence. Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander Mohammad Pakpour, Iran’s Defense Minister Aziz Naserzadeh, and others were also killed in the incident.
Hosseini said in the recording: “It was Allah’s will that Mujetaba had to go outside to do something first, then come back. He was outside, preparing to go upstairs when they hit the building with a missile. His wife, Mrs. Hadad, was martyred on the spot.”
Hosseini stated that Mujetaba only suffered a “light leg injury.”
According to Hosseini, multiple locations within the office complex were targeted simultaneously, seemingly aiming to completely eliminate the Khamenei family.
“These devils planned to attack multiple targets in the complex — one of which was the Supreme Leader’s office,” he said. “They used three missiles to strike that place.”
Since the attack, other children of Ali Khamenei have not appeared in public.
Since the war began and during the 18 days after his election, Mujetaba has not appeared publicly. The only message he conveyed to the public was a written statement broadcast on television, which has led to speculation that his injuries may be more serious than Iran admits.
At the time of this leaked audio, questions about Mujetaba’s injuries and whether he is capable of leadership are drawing attention.
U.S. intelligence assessments indicate that Ali Khamenei has concerns about his son succeeding him. According to CBS News, he considers Mujetaba to be “not very smart.”
In March 1985, at age 17, Mujetaba first drew public attention when he went missing for a week while serving on the front lines of the Iran-Iraq War. At that time, there was little indication that he would one day lead the country.
