Co-Founder Joins Anthropic; AI Startup You.com Appoints New CTO
You.com is increasingly expanding its business toward enterprise clients, positioning itself as a more direct competitor to OpenAI. The company has now announced a change in its CTO position.
After completing a funding round last September that valued the AI startup at $1.5 billion, You.com has undergone executive personnel adjustments as it focuses on helping enterprises implement artificial intelligence.
According to its LinkedIn profile, Bryan McCann, co-founder and CTO of You.com, recently left the company to join Anthropic as a technical staff member. Co-founder and CEO Richard Socher announced in a blog post that one of the company’s early engineers, Saahil Jain, has been promoted to CTO.
At the time of this CTO change, You.com, which originally focused on consumer search, is increasingly shifting its focus toward enterprise customers, providing document analysis and report generation tools. This strategic shift has brought You.com into more direct competition with larger AI startups like OpenAI and Databricks.
An insider revealed that Socher, who previously served as Salesforce’s Chief Scientist, is planning to raise hundreds of millions of dollars for a new AI research startup he will manage. Socher stated that he will continue to serve as CEO of You.com.
