The White House stated on Monday that it will not confirm whether U.S. officials in Washington will hold further talks with Iran or intermediaries this week.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that diplomatic discussions with Iran are sensitive and will not be communicated through the media. The situation remains fluid.

According to U.S. media reports, Israeli officials said that multiple coordinating countries are attempting to facilitate communication, with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, U.S. President Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, and U.S. Vice President JD Vance meeting in Islamabad, Pakistan, possibly later this week.

Earlier, Trump told Fox Business that Iran is very eager to reach an agreement, and the U.S. is also very interested in doing so. An agreement could be reached within five days or even sooner. Trump previously announced that he would delay attacks on Iranian power plants by five days.

However, Qalibaf quickly posted on social media denying that Tehran was engaging in negotiations with the U.S. Meanwhile, Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force Commander Moussavi also posted on social media stating that the current fighting will continue until national and ethnic goals are achieved, and that enemy concessions are the result of public support for military actions on the streets.
