On March 18, the Gansu Energy Regulatory Office held the 2026 Gansu Power Grid Operation Mode Briefing, conveying the spirit of the 2026 National Power System Operation Mode Report and Analysis Conference and the Joint Meeting on Grid-Connected Power Plant Network Security Management. The meeting comprehensively summarized the operation of the Gansu power grid in 2025 and during the 14th Five-Year Plan, analyzed in depth the characteristics of the Gansu power grid operation in 2026 and the power supply and demand balance, and studied and deployed key tasks for the Gansu power grid in 2026.

The meeting pointed out that Gansu has a high proportion of new energy and prominent features of a new power system. Facing rapid growth in new energy installations, record highs in maximum electricity load and daily electricity consumption, the balance of power supply and demand and the safe and stable operation of the grid will face new and greater challenges. Gansu should explore and accumulate experience for the construction of the national new power system.

The meeting required that all power enterprises in the province should: First, shoulder the political responsibility of power supply security, build consensus, work together to solve problems, continue to promote grid construction, optimize operation modes, closely monitor weak links, strengthen dispatching execution, promote green electricity consumption, and effectively ensure reliable power supply. Second, improve risk management capabilities, strictly safeguard the safety of the large power grid, increase investment, strengthen the grid infrastructure, enhance grid intelligence, optimize energy storage operation modes, and collaborate on grid risk control. Third, aim to establish a unified national electricity market, strictly adhere to rules, regulate market order, improve the supply and performance of auxiliary services, and create a fair, just, open, and orderly electricity market environment.

The responsible officer from the Gansu Energy Regulatory Office attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Major power generation groups including State Grid Gansu Electric Power Company, Huaneng Gansu Company, and Datang Gansu Company participated.
