SuiSi News: On March 23, China State Construction Engineering Corporation recently won the bid for the second phase of the Hong Kong City University (Dongguan) project. The project covers a total land area of approximately 227,900 square meters, including 11 structural units, with a total construction area of 169,000 square meters. The construction includes a variety of facilities such as academic and office buildings, industry-university-research spaces, an academic exchange center, an innovative media display center, and more. It also features underground parking, connecting platforms, outdoor supporting facilities, and connecting passageways.

The construction of Hong Kong City University (Dongguan) has far-reaching significance. It sets a vibrant example for the integrated development of “education, technology, and talent” in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The university is not simply a copy of Hong Kong City University nor a traditional mainland university replica. Instead, it relies on the national large-scale scientific instrument cluster, closely serves local industries, and fully integrates international resources, aiming to build a new type of research-oriented university.
