Italy says it will not participate in US-Israel military actions, provides air defense equipment to Gulf countries
People’s Financial News, March 11 — On March 11, local time, Italian Prime Minister Meloni stated that Italy has not participated in and does not intend to participate in the U.S. and Israel’s military strikes against Iran. She also said that Italy is providing air defense equipment to Gulf countries. On the same day, Meloni delivered a statement in the Senate regarding the Middle East situation and the upcoming EU Council meeting. She said that Italy is supplying air defense systems to Gulf countries. Other major European countries are also taking similar actions, especially the UK, France, and Germany. Meloni mentioned that approximately 2,000 Italian soldiers are stationed in the Gulf region. She also stated that Italy has dispatched a naval vessel to Cyprus because its territory was struck by Iran. She said this is an act of European solidarity and a preventive measure. (CCTV News)
