Elon Musk announced a joint project between Tesla and his AI startup xAI, called “Macrohard” or “Digital Optimus.” He stated that the system can simulate the functions of various software companies.

Musk posted on his social media platform X that the project combines xAI’s Grok large language model as an advanced “navigator” with Tesla’s AI agents, which can handle real-time computer screen visuals as well as keyboard and mouse operations.

Previously, Anthropic’s Claude Cowork was able to autonomously perform a series of computer-based tasks, raising concerns among software industry investors who fear that intelligent AI agents could disrupt existing mature business models.
