On February 25, 2026, at 7:00 AM, the cruise ship “Amsterdam” operated by Hoe Mei Cruises docked at the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Port, becoming the first international cruise visiting Shanghai during the Year of the Horse Spring Festival. The ship arrived from Busan, South Korea, carrying over 1,900 passengers from more than 40 countries including the United States and Australia. It is scheduled to go to Hong Kong before February 26. According to statistics, over 95% of the arriving passengers are foreign nationals, with nearly 90% enjoying convenient policies such as visa-free entry for foreign tour groups, unilateral visa exemptions, and 240-hour transit visa-free policies. Benefiting from the Chinese government’s unilateral visa exemption policy implemented on February 17 for Canada and the United Kingdom, many travelers from both countries appeared on site. The visa exemption allows them to easily start their Chinese New Year journey without applying for a visa. (CCTV News)
