Introducing EA Kazi – A Decentralized Learning and Earning Platform for Africans

Built on the NEAR blockchain, EA Kazi is an online teaching, learning and earning platform for Africans to get trained and eventually get enlisted as highly recognised Web3 developers in the world.

EA Kazi literally means East Africa Job, ‘Kazi‘ – a Swahili word that means ‘Job.’

The African-based decentralised platform is developed by Africa BIoT Labs, a Tanzanian blockchain and IoT innovation hub, to build and deploy talent into the Web3 space

Correspondingly, this project is a combination of an individual’s career development and advancement in the thriving Web3 ecosystem, enabling easy transitioning for developers in the existing tech space.

The EA Kazi platform also hopes to bring young software engineers together, mobilising them to fit into the blockchain space while offering renowned Web3 instructors the opportunity to earn more.

For the Trainer

• To promote teamwork, a company (an existing tech hub) is entitled to be a trainer
• The tech hub is allowed to use its developers instead of scouting for illegitimate developers
• The trainer/company is entitled to 2.5% of their trainee’s earnings and gets paid for the milestone the individual attains
• The opportunity of empowering yet earning is available

For the Trainee

• Ability to learn courses freely and pay when employed
• Flexible course duration: 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, etc
• An NFT-based certificate is awarded
• Swift and easy transitioning into being a blockchain developer
• Freelance or contract jobs are available to support the training

Below is a practical representation of EA Kazi usage:

• Zuri, a young African lady, is interested in becoming a Web3 developer and also seeks to get an International job
• Zuri’s first step is to signup on EA Kazi for easy and faster transitioning from being a regular mobile developer to a Web3 developer
• Having 1-year of experience as a Flutter developer, she decides to opt-in for 2 months training plan to learn how to deploy smart contracts to interact with Flutter
• Zuri is assigned to an instructor who teaches her the course for free for 2 months. After she gets a job, she can pay the necessary fee
• In addition to this, after Zuri’s training, she gets herself some short-term jobs on EA Kazi to prepare her for the bigger recruitment
• Zuri is appropriately guided by her instructor and is also among the few developers in the Web3 space

EA Kazi will be launched on September 27, 2022 at the Africa Money and DeFi Summit in Accra, Ghana.
