Odaily Planet Daily reports that the Trump administration, amid its confrontation with Anthropic, has established strict rules for civilian artificial intelligence contracts, requiring AI companies to allow their models’ “any lawful use.” The draft new government guidelines specify that AI companies wishing to do business with the government must grant the U.S. an irrevocable license to use their systems for all lawful purposes. This guidance from the General Services Administration will apply to civilian contracts and is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen AI service procurement. A source familiar with the matter said that, in principle, these guidelines are similar to measures the U.S. Department of Defense is considering for military contracts. (Financial Times)
