The higher up you go, whether others decide to help you or not depends on whether you can make money, or if you can help them make money, or if your special skills can solve a particular problem for them. There's no such thing as help without reason. Just because you're their fellow townsman, classmate, sibling, or relative—does that mean they'll help you? This kind of help is unreliable, and many times it's just a scam under that guise.
