On March 2nd, international oil prices surged briefly, with WTI crude oil rising by 9% intraday to $73.07 per barrel; Brent crude oil increased by over 9%, reaching $79.55 per barrel.

Reports indicate that the Ras Tanura refinery in Saudi Arabia was shut down after a drone attack. Additionally, according to Xinhua News Agency, Al Jazeera TV on the 2nd cited Iranian military sources reporting that three British and American oil tankers were attacked in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
