Northrop Grumman and Polish arms group Niewiadow-PGM have signed a framework deal to jointly produce over 180,000 155-mm artillery shells annually in Poland. Production is expected to start this year, supplying the U.S., Polish, and wider European markets, and potentially Ukraine. This initiative leverages Northrop Grumman’s Austempered Ductile Iron technology, which uses a cheaper and quicker manufacturing process, fitting into Poland’s strategic role in European defense spending.
